California Bay Builders & Remodeling is a licensed design-build general contractor serving San Jose and the greater Bay Area. Design-build means one team carries your project from first sketch to final walkthrough — the people drawing your plans are the same people managing the crew. No handoffs. That structure matters more than most homeowners realize. In the traditional model, you hire a designer, then you hire a builder, and the two have never met. When the plans hit reality — and they always do — you’re the one standing in the middle translating between them. Design-build removes that problem entirely. One contract. One team. One person accountable.
We work on ADUs, kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels, room additions, and whole-home renovations. Some of what you’ll see here is a single room brought back to life. Some of it is a house taken down to the studs and rebuilt from the framing out. What doesn’t change is the standard — the same crew, the same attention to the parts nobody photographs, and the same quality craftsmanship behind every job we finish.
We’re a boutique firm on purpose. We take on fewer projects than we could, because the owner is on every job and there’s a limit to how many places one person can actually be.
