Removing a load-bearing wall isn't a cosmetic change — it means proper structural engineering, a permit through the City of San Mateo, and a beam sized to carry the load safely. We did it right, opened the space up, and the whole kitchen changed. Light carried through, sightlines opened, and a cramped galley became a bright, social centerpiece.
From there we rebuilt everything — crisp white cabinetry, a generous island with seating, stainless appliances, and clean modern finishes throughout. The result is a kitchen that feels twice its size and was ready for the homeowner to move in and start their new chapter.
